LiveWyer Internship

LiveWyer is seeking enthusiastic interns interested in pursuing a career in DevOps consultancy. Positions are for a 3 or 6 month duration during which candidates will be exposed to a number of LiveWyer’s tools, projects and operations. These include:

• Open source infrastructure-as-code technologies focused on Kubernetes
• API driven software development (e.g NodeJS, Serverless)
• Training material development
• Technical document writing
• Helping with client focused projects
• Exposure to life as an IT Consultant

We’re not looking for dogsbodies, we’re looking for candidates who are willing to proactively grab opportunities to develop their skill. Internships are coupled directly to available positions, i.e. if you impress us, there is a job waiting for you.

While Interns will be exposed to a range of DevOps activities they will be encouraged towards experience in their preferred specialism: either software development or infrastructure operations.

While the position will ideally suit a recent (or soon-to-be) graduate, we are happy to consider any candidates who match the desired skills profile. LiveWyer supports diversity in the workplace and we encourage applications from anyone who is able to satisfy the requirements of the role.

• Hands on experience of Linux
• Basic programming experience
• Experience of version control using Git
• Interest in open source technology
• Able to work as part of a team with enthusiasm and reliability
• Flexibility to prioritise and work independently
• Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas with clarity

• Experience of cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services
• Experience of programming in Go
• Experience of containers (Docker)
• Experience / knowledge of Kubernetes
• Understanding of Agile software development
